Guidelines for Businesses

Honest. Authentic. Respectful.

Welcome to Classible — Canada's local service review platform.

Classible exists to bring customers and local businesses closer together through honest reviews, authentic experiences, and respectful conversations.

We know running a business is not easy. Every day, business owners and their teams deal with customers, schedules, employees, suppliers, unexpected problems, and the pressure to keep showing up and doing good work.

Our goal is not to tear businesses down.

Our goal is to help good businesses be discovered, help customers make informed decisions, and create a service culture where everyone has room to do better.

These guidelines explain how we encourage businesses to participate on Classible.

1

Be Honest

Honesty is the foundation of Classible.

Your business profile should accurately represent who you are and what you offer.

Please provide accurate information about:

  • Business name
  • Location
  • Contact information
  • Opening hours
  • Services
  • Service areas
  • Pricing information
  • Qualifications and certifications
  • Business description
  • Photos and other materials

If something changes, update your profile when reasonably possible.

Clear information creates clear expectations.

2

Be Authentic

Classible is about real local businesses and real customer experiences.

Your profile should represent your actual business.

Your reviews should come from real customers.

Your responses should sound like your business and your people — not like manufactured marketing language.

We encourage businesses to share:

  • What they do
  • What they are good at
  • Who they serve
  • What makes their service different
  • The work they are proud of
  • The communities they serve

Authenticity helps customers understand who they are choosing.

3

Invite Honest Reviews

We encourage businesses to invite genuine customers to share their experiences.

You can invite customers through:

  • Email
  • SMS
  • QR codes
  • Receipts
  • Invoices
  • Booking follow-ups
  • Your website
  • Classible's review-request tools

A simple request is often best:

“Thank you for choosing us. We'd love to hear about your experience. Please leave an honest review on Classible.”

We encourage honest reviews, not a particular rating.

Please don't ask customers:

“Can you give us five stars?”

Instead, give them the freedom to tell their own story.

4

Don't Buy Praise

Classible believes good work should earn genuine recognition.

Businesses should not purchase or manufacture positive reviews.

Please don't:

  • Buy reviews
  • Create fake reviews
  • Ask employees to pretend to be customers
  • Ask friends to review your business when they have not used your service
  • Create multiple accounts to increase your rating
  • Pay someone to create reviews
  • Exchange undisclosed rewards for positive reviews

No bought praise. No manufactured reputation.

Your reputation should reflect the experiences of your customers.

5

Don't Hide Feedback

Negative feedback is part of running a business.

Sometimes customers will have a disappointing experience. Sometimes they will misunderstand what happened. Sometimes they will simply have different expectations.

Classible does not expect businesses to be perfect.

We encourage businesses to see feedback as an opportunity to understand customers and improve.

A legitimate negative review should not be treated as an enemy. It can be a conversation. It can reveal something you didn't notice. And sometimes, it can help the next customer understand what to expect.

6

Respond With Respect

When responding to a review, remember that another person will read your response.

That person may be:

  • The original customer
  • A future customer
  • Another local business owner
  • Someone deciding whether to contact you

A respectful response can say a lot about your business.

Instead of

“This customer is lying.”

Consider

“We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We'd appreciate the opportunity to understand what happened and see how we can improve.”

You don't need to agree with every review.

But you can disagree with dignity.

7

Negative Reviews Are Not the End of the Story

A business may receive a negative review even when it normally provides excellent service.

One difficult experience does not define an entire business.

If you receive criticism:

  1. •

    Listen

Try to understand what the customer experienced.

  2. •

    Check

Review the facts and your records where appropriate.

  3. •

    Respond

Explain your perspective calmly and respectfully.

  4. •

    Improve

If there is something you could have done better, learn from it.

  5. •

    Keep Going

    Continue doing good work.

Classible believes there should be room to improve.

8

Celebrate Good Work

Classible isn't only about complaints.

We want to see more recognition for businesses and people who do their work well.

If your customers appreciate your service, encourage them to share their experience.

Celebrate:

  • Great craftsmanship
  • Helpful staff
  • Reliable service
  • Clear communication
  • Going the extra mile
  • Thoughtful customer service
  • Long-term relationships with customers

Good experiences deserve to be heard.

When a job goes right, that story can help the next customer.

9

Treat Customers With Respect

Every customer deserves dignity.

Classible does not tolerate harassment, threats, racism, hate, or demeaning language toward customers.

A disagreement about a review should never become a personal attack.

You can defend your business without attacking the person.

10

Respect Your Employees and Workers

Classible is also a community of people who provide services.

Customers may review a business because of an interaction with an employee or contractor.

Businesses should not expose employees to public harassment because of a review.

Likewise, employees should not be encouraged to create misleading reviews or manipulate a business's reputation.

Good service depends on people.

Treat them accordingly.

11

Protect Customer Privacy

When responding to reviews, protect the customer's personal information.

Do not publicly disclose:

  • Phone numbers
  • Personal email addresses
  • Home addresses
  • Payment information
  • Private conversations
  • Medical information
  • Personal circumstances
  • Other confidential information

Even when responding to an unfair review, keep private matters private.

12

Don't Manipulate Ratings

Classible ratings should reflect genuine customer experiences.

Please don't attempt to artificially increase or decrease a rating.

This includes:

  • Creating fake accounts
  • Coordinating fake reviews
  • Asking for specific ratings
  • Reviewing your own business
  • Reviewing competitors
  • Paying for reviews
  • Threatening customers over reviews
  • Offering benefits specifically for positive reviews
  • Asking customers to remove negative reviews in exchange for compensation

You can build your reputation. You cannot manufacture it.

13

Don't Review Your Competitors

Healthy competition is good for local communities.

Using Classible to secretly attack another business is not.

Businesses should not create or encourage misleading negative reviews about competitors.

Compete through:

  • Better service
  • Better communication
  • Better value
  • Better craftsmanship
  • Better customer experience

Let customers make their own decisions.

14

Respond to Reviews, Don't Fight With Them

A review is not an invitation to win an argument.

Before responding, ask:

“Will this response help someone understand our business better?”

A useful response might:

  • Clarify a misunderstanding
  • Explain what happened
  • Acknowledge a mistake
  • Thank the customer
  • Offer a way to continue the conversation
  • Explain how the business has improved

A response should not:

  • Insult the customer
  • Threaten the customer
  • Reveal private information
  • Encourage others to attack the reviewer
  • Become a personal argument
15

If You Made a Mistake, It's Okay to Say So

Businesses are run by people.

People make mistakes.

Acknowledging a genuine mistake can demonstrate responsibility.

For example:

“We made a mistake with the appointment scheduling, and we're sorry. We've reviewed what happened and have changed our process to help prevent this from happening again.”

Customers often value honesty more than a perfect-sounding response.

16

If You Disagree With a Review

You do not have to agree with every review.

If you believe a review is:

  • Fake
  • Fraudulent
  • Unrelated to your business
  • Submitted by a competitor
  • A duplicate
  • Harassing
  • Privacy-violating
  • Otherwise against Classible's policies

you can report it through the appropriate process.

Please provide factual information that can help Classible understand the situation.

A review should not be reported simply because it is negative.

Disagreement is not the same as a policy violation.

17

Give Customers Space to Speak

Customers should be able to describe their experience in their own words.

Businesses should not pressure customers to:

  • Change a review
  • Remove a review
  • Give a particular rating
  • Hide criticism
  • Rewrite their experience

If a customer voluntarily updates a review after you resolve an issue, that is their decision.

18

Use Your Business Profile to Tell Your Story

Your Classible profile is an opportunity to introduce your business to the community.

Consider including:

  • Your story
  • Your services
  • Your experience
  • Your service area
  • Your team
  • Your approach to customer service
  • Photos of your work
  • What customers can expect

Don't just tell people that you're "the best."

Show them what you do and why you care.

19

Keep Photos and Information Genuine

Use real photographs of:

  • Your business
  • Your team
  • Your work
  • Your products
  • Your service environment

Do not use misleading photographs or images that imply work was completed when it was not.

Do not upload photographs containing private customer information without appropriate permission.

21

Use AI Responsibly

Classible may provide AI-powered tools to help businesses understand customer feedback or draft responses.

For example:

  • Review summaries
  • Customer sentiment
  • Response suggestions
  • Feedback trends
  • Business insights

AI can help, but it should not replace human judgment.

Before publishing an AI-generated response, read it carefully.

Make sure it:

  • Is accurate
  • Sounds like your business
  • Respects the customer
  • Does not reveal private information
  • Does not make promises you cannot keep
22

Be a Good Local Business

Classible is about more than ratings.

Local businesses are part of the communities they serve.

We encourage businesses to contribute to a healthier service culture through:

  • Honest communication
  • Fair expectations
  • Reliable service
  • Respectful customer relationships
  • Fair treatment of workers
  • Responsible business practices
  • Willingness to improve

From Vancouver to Halifax, local services help hold communities together.

Better service starts with people who care enough to keep trying.

23

What Happens When Guidelines Are Violated?

Classible may take appropriate action when there is evidence of serious or repeated violations.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • Contact the business
  • Request clarification
  • Restrict specific content
  • Remove prohibited content
  • Restrict certain features
  • Suspend an account
  • Remove a business's access to Classible services
  • Take other appropriate action

We aim to act fairly and proportionately.

Our goal is not to punish businesses.

Our goal is to protect the integrity of the Classible community.

24

Our Commitment to Businesses

Running a business is not easy.

We understand that businesses may experience:

  • Difficult customers
  • Misunderstandings
  • Negative reviews
  • Unexpected problems
  • Growing pains
  • Staffing challenges
  • Scheduling problems

Classible is not here to demand perfection.

We want to create a place where businesses can:

  • Be discovered
  • Be heard
  • Learn from feedback
  • Celebrate good work
  • Keep improving
25

Our Commitment to Customers

Customers deserve honest information about the services they are considering.

They should be able to:

  • Read genuine experiences
  • Share their own experiences
  • Express reasonable criticism
  • Recognize excellent service
  • Make informed decisions

Businesses and customers both have an important role in creating a trustworthy platform.

26

The Classible Standard

We encourage every business on Classible to remember three simple principles:

  1. •

    Honest

Tell the truth about your business. Let your customers tell the truth about their experiences.

  2. •

    Authentic

Show people who you really are. Let your reputation grow from the work you actually do.

  3. •

    Respectful

Treat customers, workers, owners, and fellow businesses with dignity. Disagreement is okay. Cruelty is not.

27

Better Service Starts With People Who Care

Classible believes Canadian service culture can become clearer, kinder, and better for everyone.

We want to see:

  • Higher service standards
  • Happier customers
  • Stronger local businesses
  • More honest conversations
  • More room to improve

Thank you for being part of that community.

Honest. Authentic. Respectful.
