Review & Content Policy

How Classible keeps reviews useful, authentic, fair, and transparent for Canadians.

Classible.ca ("Classible", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to maintaining a review platform that is useful, authentic, fair, and transparent.

Reviews are an important part of Classible. They help Canadians share their experiences with local businesses and services.

This Review & Content Policy explains what content is permitted on Classible, how reviews are evaluated, when content may be restricted or removed, and how users and businesses can report concerns.

This Policy forms part of the Classible Terms and Conditions.

1

Genuine Experiences

Classible is intended for genuine customer experiences.

A review should be based on an actual interaction, transaction, appointment, purchase, consultation, or other legitimate experience with the business or service being reviewed.

You must not submit a review based solely on:

  • Rumours
  • Information copied from another person
  • Information found online
  • Assumptions
  • Personal dislike unrelated to the service
  • An experience you did not personally have, unless the review clearly identifies the basis of the information and otherwise complies with this Policy
2

One Experience, One Review

Users should not repeatedly review the same business based on the same experience.

Classible may combine, restrict, or remove duplicate reviews.

If a customer has multiple legitimate experiences with a business over time, separate reviews may be permitted when they provide materially different experiences.

3

No Fake Reviews

The following are prohibited:

  • Fabricated reviews
  • Reviews written by people who never used the service
  • Reviews created using fake identities
  • Reviews created using multiple accounts
  • Reviews purchased from third parties
  • Reviews generated to artificially increase or decrease a business's rating
  • Reviews submitted on behalf of another person without authorization
  • Coordinated review manipulation

Classible may restrict accounts or businesses involved in suspected review manipulation.

4

Conflicts of Interest

You must disclose material relationships with the business you are reviewing.

Examples include:

  • Being an owner
  • Being an employee
  • Being a contractor
  • Being a competitor
  • Being a family member
  • Having a financial interest
  • Having another material relationship that could affect the impartiality of the review

Businesses and their representatives must not secretly submit reviews about their own business.

Competitors must not submit reviews intended to unfairly damage another business.

5

Incentivized Reviews

Businesses must not offer customers undisclosed compensation or benefits in exchange for a particular rating or positive review.

Examples include:

  • "Leave us five stars and receive $20 off."
  • "Give us a positive review and receive a gift."
  • "Delete your negative review and receive a refund."

If Classible permits legitimate incentives for feedback in the future, the incentive and applicable relationship must be clearly disclosed.

Businesses must not condition refunds, warranties, customer service, or other contractual rights on the removal or modification of a negative review.

6

Review Gating

Businesses must not selectively request positive reviews while discouraging customers who had negative experiences from providing feedback.

For example, a business should not operate a process where:

Happy customers

“Classible review”

Unhappy customers

“Private complaint only”

Classible may restrict review-request campaigns that appear designed to manipulate overall ratings.

7

Honest Ratings

Users should select ratings that reasonably reflect their experience.

Users should not coordinate ratings with others for the purpose of manipulating a business's overall rating.

Classible may investigate unusual rating patterns.

8

Accuracy and Opinions

Reviews may contain opinions and subjective experiences.

Users should distinguish, where practical, between:

Personal experience

“The technician arrived two hours late.”

Unverified accusation

“The company is committing fraud.”

Users are responsible for ensuring that factual claims they make are reasonably accurate and supported by their actual experience.

Classible does not require users to provide positive reviews.

Negative reviews are permitted when they comply with this Policy.

9

Defamation and Serious Allegations

Classible is not a court and does not determine whether a statement is legally defamatory.

Users should avoid presenting serious allegations as established facts unless they have a reasonable basis for doing so.

Reviews should focus on the user's own experience.

Classible may restrict or remove content where appropriate, including where content presents significant legal, privacy, safety, or abuse concerns.

A business disagreement with a review does not automatically mean that the review violates this Policy.

10

Personal Information

Do not publish another person's private or sensitive information.

Prohibited information may include:

  • Home addresses
  • Personal telephone numbers
  • Personal email addresses
  • Government identification numbers
  • Financial information
  • Passwords
  • Private medical information
  • Private employment information
  • Private correspondence
  • Information about children
  • Other information that a reasonable person would expect to remain private

Businesses should not publicly disclose customer information when responding to reviews.

11

Harassment and Threats

Classible does not permit:

  • Threats
  • Harassment
  • Bullying
  • Intimidation
  • Hate speech
  • Targeted abuse
  • Extortion
  • Blackmail
  • Calls for violence
  • Encouragement of unlawful activity

Users should not use Classible as a tool to pressure or intimidate businesses or customers.

12

Discrimination and Hate

Content that promotes hatred or discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics may be removed.

Users should focus reviews on the service experience rather than attacking individuals or groups.

13

Promotional Content and Spam

Reviews should not be used primarily as advertisements.

Prohibited content includes:

  • Promotional links
  • Repeated advertising
  • Referral spam
  • Affiliate promotion
  • Search-engine manipulation
  • Promotional content disguised as customer reviews
  • Repeated commercial messages

Businesses may use designated Classible business features for legitimate promotional activities.

14

Competitor Reviews

Businesses and competitors must not use Classible to deliberately damage competitors through false or misleading reviews.

Classible may investigate patterns of coordinated competitor activity.

15

Review Verification

Classible may provide review verification mechanisms.

A review may receive a verification indicator when Classible has obtained sufficient information to apply the relevant verification criteria.

Verification does not mean Classible guarantees every statement in the review.

Classible may remove or change a verification indicator if the underlying verification information changes or is found to be unreliable.

16

Evidence and Documentation

Classible may request supporting information when investigating a review.

Examples may include:

  • Receipt
  • Invoice
  • Booking confirmation
  • Appointment confirmation
  • Order information
  • Correspondence
  • Other reasonable evidence of a service experience

Documents provided for verification should not be publicly displayed unless expressly authorized.

Classible may retain appropriate verification records in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable law.

17

Business Responses

Businesses may respond to reviews where the feature is available.

Responses should:

  • Address the customer's concerns professionally
  • Avoid personal information
  • Avoid threats
  • Avoid harassment
  • Avoid misleading statements
  • Avoid attempting to manipulate the customer
  • Respect confidentiality obligations

Businesses should not disclose information that could identify a customer unless they have a lawful basis and appropriate authorization to do so.

18

Businesses Cannot Buy Ratings

Businesses cannot purchase:

  • Positive reviews
  • Higher ratings
  • Guaranteed review removal
  • Guaranteed ranking
  • Guaranteed search placement within organic results

Businesses may purchase advertising or subscription services where offered.

Paid services will not automatically change a business's underlying customer rating.

20

Reporting a Review

Users and businesses may report content that they believe violates this Policy.

Reports should provide sufficient information for Classible to understand the concern.

A report may include:

  • Review URL
  • Reason for the report
  • Relevant facts
  • Supporting information
  • Evidence where available

Submitting a report does not guarantee removal.

21

Business Disputes

A business may disagree with a customer's review.

Disagreement alone does not establish that a review violates this Policy.

Businesses may report reviews where they believe the content:

  • Is fraudulent
  • Was not based on a genuine experience
  • Contains private information
  • Violates this Policy
  • Violates applicable law
  • Is materially misleading
  • Was submitted by a conflicted party
  • Represents coordinated manipulation

Classible may request information from the business and/or reviewer.

22

Moderation Decisions

Classible may:

  • Leave content unchanged
  • Add a verification indicator
  • Add a moderation label
  • Temporarily restrict content
  • Remove specific content
  • Suspend an account
  • Terminate an account
  • Restrict business features
  • Request additional information

Classible may use automated systems and human review.

We do not guarantee that every violation will be detected.

23

Appeals

Where an appeal process is available, users and businesses may request reconsideration of certain moderation decisions.

An appeal should explain:

  • What decision is being challenged
  • Why the decision should be reconsidered
  • Any relevant supporting information

Classible may maintain reasonable limits on repeated or abusive appeals.

24

Emergency and Safety Matters

Classible is not an emergency-response service.

If you believe that someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services.

Do not rely on a Classible review or business profile for emergency, medical, legal, financial, or other time-sensitive decisions without independent verification.

25

Artificial Intelligence and Reviews

Classible may use AI-assisted systems to identify potentially suspicious content, categorize reviews, summarize reviews, or assist moderation.

AI systems may make errors.

Classible may use human review for certain moderation decisions.

AI-generated summaries are not individual customer reviews and should not be interpreted as direct quotations or guaranteed facts.

Classible will not intentionally create fictional customer experiences and present them as genuine reviews.

26

Changes to Reviews

Classible may allow users to edit reviews according to applicable platform rules.

Materially changing a review to describe a different experience may be treated as a new review or may require additional verification.

Classible may retain reasonable records of moderation and review activity for security, integrity, and legal purposes.

27

Removal Requests

Classible may remove content when:

  • It violates this Policy
  • It violates the Terms and Conditions
  • It violates applicable law
  • It contains prohibited personal information
  • It presents a significant security or safety risk
  • It is fraudulent
  • It is spam
  • It is technically invalid
  • Removal is otherwise reasonably necessary to operate the platform

Classible does not guarantee removal simply because a business requests it.

29

No Guarantee of Review Accuracy

Classible provides a platform for users to publish their experiences.

We do not guarantee that:

  • Every review is genuine
  • Every statement is accurate
  • Every rating is fair
  • Every business profile is complete
  • Every business response is accurate
  • Every review represents the views of the majority of customers

Users should exercise their own judgment when evaluating businesses.

30

Platform Independence

Classible's commercial relationship with a business does not automatically determine how that business's reviews are displayed.

A business's subscription, advertising purchase, or other commercial relationship does not guarantee:

  • Positive reviews
  • A particular rating
  • Review removal
  • Preferential moderation
  • Guaranteed organic search ranking

Classible may offer clearly identified promotional placement separately from organic review information.

31

Cooperation With Authorities

Classible may cooperate with law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other authorized authorities where required or legally permitted.

This may include providing information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and legal processes.

32

Changes to This Policy

Classible may update this Review & Content Policy as the platform develops.

Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.

The current version will be published on Classible.ca.
